Unbelievable, Enni Rukajärvi takes home her second 6star TTR victory in a row. Today she won the slopestyle at the Burton European Open!
Congrats Enni, we’re stoked!
Again it was Enni who dominated the contest. Her best run started off with some great jib moves in the upper section of the course: a 50-50 Boardslide to Fakie, Cab 360 Slide, Cab 270 Boardslide, 50-50 on the Downbox, a huge Stalefish over the quarter, a Frontside 360 Indy, Backside mute 540 and a stylish Cab 720. The magnitude of the tricks as well as their style could not be matched by any other girl.

Huge Congratulations to Gretchen for winning the third stop of the Grand Prix! This has pretty much secured her spot in going to be competing in Vancouver, it’s not official, so we can’t announce it yet, but we kind of just did. Congrats Gretch! Go for Gold!
K2 rookie Enni Rukajärvi took home the victory win at the 2010 Roxy Chicken Jam hosted at Saalback Hinterglemm. This competition is the world’s largest girls only snowboard event so winning an event like this is a huge accomplishment for the Finnish rider who beat out the double Roxy Chicken Jam champ Cheryl Maas.
At her winning run, she showed a 50/50 at the down box, a frontside 360 tail grab, a backside 540 indy and a cab 540 at the kickers as well as a 50/50 nosepress at the Roxy up-down box. With this winning run she ended up with a big chunk of the $50,000 prize purse to party with.
MGT Academy Class of 2010; And the Winner Is…..Marie-Andree Racine Gagnon!
Whistler based rider Marie-Andree Racine may soon need to follow in the steps of other Quebecois rippers before her and adopt an acronym moniker like DCP, LNP or MFR. Today MGT Snowboard Camp announced that Marie-Andree Racine Gagnon is the winner of the yearlong “MGT Academy” contest. Marie-Andree was chosen from a group of 5 finalists who were vying for a sponsorship with MGT Snowboard Camp that would provide the winner with unique snowboarding opportunities and a network that could fast-track their snowboard career.
The contest began 1 year ago and was open to anyone who registered for an MGT camp. The idea for MGT Academy came from seeing so many promising riders, including Raewyn Reid and Bev Vuilleumier, pass through the camp program that the MGT crew decided to permanently incorporate this sort of ‘sponsorship scholarship’.
To kick off her role as MGT Academy winner, Marie-Andree will be stuffing her new ThirtyTwo boots and pleasantly smelling Dakine snowboard socks and other gear into a Dakine luggage suite. She will then head into a snowy field to shoot with photographer Ashley Barker who holds the coveted cover of the current Snowboard Magazine Photo Annual (featuring Mikey Rencz). In addition to gear and a private photo shoot with a professional photographer, Marie-Andree will receive access to some of the season’s most desirable contests.
“To win the girls had to calculate the square root of a cab 540 and dial the molecular formula of 2 parts dedication and 2 parts raw talent.” jokes MGT co-founder and camp director Joanna Majcherkiewicz.. “The final 5 were all strong riders with great personalities. The judges agreed though that Marie’s riding stood out and she was consistently growing her list of strong regional contest results. Not that contests are the only performance barometer but they can build reputations and help you evolve as a rider. And they’re a great way to get free tshirts and indulge in resort french fries.”
Congratulations to winner Marie-Andree Racine Gagnon and the rest of the final 5; Shelley Julio, Kallie Murray, Emily Park and Jenna Mae Togado (visit her toque company at www.sikknits.com ). Learn more about these riders and see their photos on www.mgtsnowboardcamp.com .
