Just checking in! I spent last month filming with Standard Films in Whistler and enjoying the Olympics in Vancouver. My good friend Helen Upperton won a silver medal in women’s bobsleigh, and I wouldn’t have missed it for anything. It was truly a once in a lifetime moment not to be missed. That, and the Gold Medal men’s hockey game where Canada won. I happened to be across the water in North Vancouver at home watching the game, and the sound outside after we scored in overtime was ridiculous. We ventured over the sea bus to downtown, where all transit was stopped because there were too many people on the streets. PS, remind me to never wear a Calgary jersey again on Canada’s day. I almost got my arse kicked by 99% of all the Vancouverites. C’mon! I was just wearing red!
When we got to trendy Yaletown, some random guy handed me a hockey stick and asked me to play in their street game, where the goals were newspaper stands. Police just cruised on by, as if nothing were wrong. It was amazing! To feel the energy in the streets is something I’ll never forget. Oh Canada!
Fast forward to right now and I’m in Mammoth Lakes California, filming with Kimmy Fasani. We built a jump today and I’m hoping for bluebird tomorrow!
