With only a couple days left in Northern BC the guys get a few more session in before its time to head back home were the weather is rumored to be turning around. In this episode we learn that Steve will say just about anything to avoid getting kicked out of a spot, Belzile can make the best of any situation and Jake is a ridiculously good skater.
Episode 1: The first episode features Chris Beresford trying a switch double “kickflip” off some stairs in Alaska. Chris finds himself entering the black lodge where he must confront his demons. Good Chris went in, but who came out?

Jake Kuzyk is one busy snowboarder and an all around nice guy. Shaun McKay finally got a few words out of him while they were chilling in the cabin at Whistler this past year (see video below). And Yobeat also locked down some interview questions with him this past week. See full article here. Hump Day with Jake Kuzyk
The thoughts of K2 go out the the family and fellow friends of Aaron Robinson. News of his tragic passing has made us all reflect on his life and infectious smile. Over the last few days it has been incredible to hear all the good words people are saying and posting despite the difficulty it is to find those words. As all of us at K2 process the news and our feelings we have collected some words, drawings, and best of times photos that we are sharing as part of the remembrance of a person we all loved so much.
“Yesterday a gem in the snowboard world passed on. Aaron Robinson (A Rob) has suddenly left us…..doing what he loved; snowboarding with friends in Chile. When a life is cut abruptly short there are no words, just feelings and memories. I feel blessed to have gotten to know A Rob at a K2 photo shoot last August in Chile, and I smile when I think of his contagious passion and pure spirit….not to mention he ripped! A Rob you will be missed but never forgotten because you’ve left a contagious way of living life that will be celebrated and shared by everyone you touched along the way. My condolences to the Robinson family and all of his friends.” – Gretchen Bleiler
Brooke earned one of her most notable results of the season this past weekend with a 2nd Place finish at the Volcom Peanut Butter and Rail Jam Championships in Mammoth. Brooke took on some of the best rail riders from around the globe competing against riders from France, Japan and the U.S.
Ole Ole Ole! It’s that time of the year….catalog shoot time. So while many of you are probably trying to squeeze in the last few days of float life, BBQ’s, beaches, bikini’s, warm weather surf and all those other wonderful things about summer. We decided to end it early and take some of the team down to Chile to shoot the 2011.12 Catalog, and what can we say? Such a good decision!
The Mike Yoshida
First met up with K2 Staff Photographer and video cameo master Mike Yoshida. Between the two of us we had around 14 bags including our photo gear. Packed everything into my girfriend’s Subaru. Not enough room for me and Mike so we had to get a cab as well. Good times. Then we had an interesting challenge of trying to get 10 bags of product onto a jumper flight to LAX. Thanks to the counter ladies at United for the straight hook up! We met the majority of the rest of the crew in Los Angeles which consisted of Jordan Mendenhall, Travis Parker, Gretchen Bleiler, Leanne Pelosi, and one of our filmers for the trip Sam Hiltner. 13 hours, a quick stop in Lima, some delicious wine, and a couple Advil PM’s and we were in Santiago.
Customs in Chile is pretty mellow. Brought in over 30 snowboards. Helps if you pretend not to know what they are asking you.
The drive up from Santiago to the Farallones area is a fun one. Over 39 counted switch backs on a road not much wider than your car in some areas climbing around 4,000 feet. We arrived at our house for the trip right next to El Colorado Resort, one of the first houses to built up here. Farallones is next to four resorts El Colorado, Valle Nevado, La Parva, and Farallones. Every window has a view of the Andes. Not bad.
