So we’ve come to the end of this season’s Better Daze episodes but fear not these boys are just getting started. Along with Belzile’s guidance, Jake Kuzyk and Steve Cartwright spin the revolver in the the Whistler backcountry…. Don’t believe me? Check out the video and keep an eye on these guys, by next year, I’ll be the one telling you “I told you so”.
Snowboarding is fun so have fun snowboarding! Until next time my friends….
With only a couple days left in Northern BC the guys get a few more session in before its time to head back home were the weather is rumored to be turning around. In this episode we learn that Steve will say just about anything to avoid getting kicked out of a spot, Belzile can make the best of any situation and Jake is a ridiculously good skater.
Leanne Pelosi has done a tremendous amount for female snowboarding. She founded the MGT Snowboard Camp for Girls and Women who want to continue to progress their snowboarding and she has appeared in many runway films such as La La Land, As If, and Ro Sham Bo. She is one down to earth rider, and her set up is just as rad as she is.
For the park, where Leanne has no problem throwing 720s and cab 270 on to 180 out on down rails, she checks in her K2 Va Va Voom 143. When in the backcountry she rides her K2 Wolfpack 154. “I developed this board for an all-around board that I use for park and backcountry. You can’t go wrong with feathers on the base.” remarks Leanne.
For bindings she kicks it in the K2 Agogos because of how fast she can get in and out of them and the K2 Contour boots because the Double Boa is easy and fast to use when your on hill.
Push.ca and K2 Snowboarding have teamed up for a second year to present K2uesdays: a weekly give-away contest held every Tuesday! Starting next week a brand new K2uesdays video, hosted by Whistler shredder/personality Robjn Taylor and starring an array of Canadian K2 team riders, will drop right here on Push.ca. All you have to do is watch the video to learn the answer to a skill-testing question required to enter… although you’ll want to watch the videos for entertainment purposes anyway, trust us.
A new prize can be won each week between now and December 6th. Then a grand prize will be given away through our final K2uesdays video on December 13th. The best part? Every time you enter the weekly K2uesdays contest, assuming you don’t win, you earn an entry into the grand prize contest. So enter every week for more chances to win!
With nothing but bad weather in the forecast Jake, Matt and Steve pack up the truck and head out to Prince George BC for a little jib mission. In this episode we learn that Jake likes hotels with porches, Belzile is always smiling and Steve shouldn’t be allowed to drive the truck.

Well, we all know that everyday should be a day to appreciate your frends, peers, family members, and anyone of the matter. But, on October 10th we wanted to extend an invitation to you and the rest of the world to join our holiday we have dubbed as “Frends Day.” Use Mother’s Day or Father’s day for example. You appreciate your parents everyday, don’t you? But yet there is still that one day you go that extra mile to show them how thankful you are to have them in your lives. So with that being said, let’s use October 10th to appreciate your frends and have the best time possible together!
In anticipation of Frends Day we will be having daily contests and free giveaways on our Facebook Page (facebook.com/noIinFrends), previews of our new Frendsvision vidoes on wearefrends.com, announcing new FRENDS, and on 10/10 we will be launching our new Frends website and giving away the Grand Prize surprise that you can be apart of by entering the contests going on now on the Facebook.
There is no I in Frends Day, and there is no I in Frends. Enjoy the new excuse to take the day to let loose and have as much fun as possible with your frends!
October 8th brings the 14th annual SNOW CAP PARTY at Pyramid Alehouse in Seattle. If you’re in the Seattle area you’re not going to want to miss this one. Music, DJs, BEER, Free Stuff and so much more… Check out the video from last year below and be sure to RSVP and get your tickets in advance!
The Snow Cap Party helps raise funds for the Surfrider Foundation’s Snowrider Project. All monies from raffle tickets sold (for prizes generously donated by sponsors like you) go directly to Snowrider, plus Pyramid makes a large donation to the group as well. This is their biggest fundraiser of the year.
In their quest for better weather conditions, K2 Snowboard Canadian team riders Jake Kuzyk, Matt Belzile, Steve Cartwright and filmer Nate Laverty drive into the unknown in hopes of finding some better days to get the final shots for their upcoming video parts. Better Daze is a 3 part web series that documents life on the road – their trip takes them from Whistler to the BC interior and back.
Thursday, September 29th at the Bomb Snow World Headquarters for an amazing night of snowboarding-inspired photography as we celebrate “Perfect Moments Of Shred,” a fundraiser for the A-ROB Plant A Seed Foundation.
The show will feature a curated collection of iconic images from snowboarding’s most esteemed photographers that have never been available for public purchase. This limited edition series features work by internationally respected shooters: Jeff Curtes, Frode Sandbech, Andy Wright, Matt Georges, Jenna Low and Scott Serfas, just to name a few.
Proceeds from the event will help support the recently launched A-ROB Plant A Seed Foundation, a Whitefish-based, non-profit started after Aaron Robinson’s untimely death while snowboarding in Chile this past summer. The Foundation will help carry out Aaron’s dream of providing underprivileged children the opportunity to experience and develop their own passion and love for snowboarding.
Joined by hundreds of likeminded people from all over the country, K2 Snowboarding set sail from Seattle to Kalispell, Montana to pay our respects to a fallen brother. This last summer Aaron “A-Rob” Robinson passed away while smashing life down in the mountains of Chile.
Before he passed, one of Aaron’s dreams was to create a non-profit organization dedicated to helping underprivileged kids share his passion for snowboarding. Today, the A-Rob Plant A Seed Foundation is official and anticipated to start changing lives of Montana’s youth this winter season. As an effort to support Aaron’s foundation and thus improve the lives of kids nationwide, K2 Snowboarding built three custom Turbo Dream snowboards (A-Rob’s favorite) for a silent auction during last weekend’s carnival. Prior to arrival one of the boards was sold for $2,000 to a long time friend of A-Rob. In total, the three boards accumulated over $4,000 with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the foundation.
A special thank you to the entire Robinson family for making last weekend an experience that will never be forgotten. We love you so much, Aaron and will surely be getting barreled all season in your name. Say hi to Craig Kelly for us!
