Hotlapping some of our favorite zones, everyone was real stoked at how light the snow was thanks to lower than average temps we are seeing this winter. Perfect for getting our shred legs back up and running!
Greg, Jay and Kael
Greg sending a backflip. The landing didn’t quite work out, but it still looked cool.
Sometimes you get bit by the pit ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The northwest is known for its interesting vegetation, and accumulation of features: pillows, stunt ditches, tree jibs, the list goes on. While the early snowfall did provide excellent coverage, it was fun seeing trees, shrubs and sticks that are usually completely covered up showing their heads (amidst deep pow).
When we weren’t hitting the side stashes, the slopes were a medley of slashes, bashes, carves and airs.
Kael with a nice carve.
Jay serving up some style on the Party Platter. This tail grab 3 was a particular beauty.
At the end of the day, we just wanted to keep ridin’ powder. Lucky for us, the snow came back and free refills became the new policy.
Greg and Kael hidin’ in the white room.
We’re stoked on what’s to come, hope your season is also off to a great start!
The K2 Snowboarding PopThis! Tour is kicking off again. And this season with an international mission – mission 100 cm. As last year’s winner Sebi Müller from Germany popped 100 cm at the PopThis! Highest Ollie Tournament, there is a huge challenge to be met. Join in and prove your ollie skills at one of the tours stops and win a trip with the K2 pros to High Cascade Summer Camp at Mt. Hood, USA.
We will have our award-winning K2 Fastplant board with its BambooyahTM technology available that provides you with the ultimate pop in order to fullfil the mission! No registration required! The only thing you need is plenty of pop in your pants!
The tour kicks off as a part of the Hotzone.TV Park Opening in Hintertux on the first weekend in October. The final takes place in April 2012 at Camp K2, Steven’s Pass in the USA. Each tour stop winner will receive a limited-edition K2 skatedeck, designed by Don Pendleton and a watch from the new G- SHOCK collection, which is as indestructible as the K2 Fastplant. Taking part is certainly worth it!

The thoughts of K2 go out the the family and fellow friends of Aaron Robinson. News of his tragic passing has made us all reflect on his life and infectious smile. Over the last few days it has been incredible to hear all the good words people are saying and posting despite the difficulty it is to find those words. As all of us at K2 process the news and our feelings we have collected some words, drawings, and best of times photos that we are sharing as part of the remembrance of a person we all loved so much.
“Yesterday a gem in the snowboard world passed on. Aaron Robinson (A Rob) has suddenly left us…..doing what he loved; snowboarding with friends in Chile. When a life is cut abruptly short there are no words, just feelings and memories. I feel blessed to have gotten to know A Rob at a K2 photo shoot last August in Chile, and I smile when I think of his contagious passion and pure spirit….not to mention he ripped! A Rob you will be missed but never forgotten because you’ve left a contagious way of living life that will be celebrated and shared by everyone you touched along the way. My condolences to the Robinson family and all of his friends.” – Gretchen Bleiler
The Boa Lacing System has been a staple of the K2 boot line for over 10 years now. Did you know their laces and dials are guaranteed for life? So confident in the strength of their cable they like to tow cars around with them in their spare time.
The video is a bit cheesy, pulling a semi with a boa lace system, but it does show there is nothing stronger on the market or guaranteed for life
“World renowned artist Dale Chihuly and Action Sports Retailer evo partner to benefit youth”
On February 26, 2010 Dale Chihuly, K2 and evo will join forces to unveil a custom glass “neon tumbleweed” created by the artist. The event to benefit Big Brothers and Sisters of Seattle, will be open to the public from 6pm to 10pm. A Chihuly hand painted snowboard and pair of skis, donated by K2 will be made available by auction during the event to benefit BBS Seattle.
